Obama: The First 100 Days. . .

. . .is a completely useless measurement.

Think I’m wrong?  Then why don’t we see. . .

Congress:  The First 100 Days

The Supreme Court:  The First 100 Days

The New Yankee Stadium:  The First 100 Days

Susan Boyle:  The First 100 Days

Just to offer some perspective, if you Google “Obama 100 days,” you get 32,600,000 hits.  If you Google “swine flu,” you get 3,260,000 hits.  It’s a made-up story, generated by lazy, bored journalists.

Right now, we have an economy that may still be in free fall, a potential flu epidemic, almost daily revelations on torture, the Taliban between 70 and 100 miles from Islamabad, and so many other problems that they wouldn’t fit inside a supertanker.  But instead of focusing on real news, the White House press corps will pester Robert Gibbs with stupid questions about a meaningless metric.

So yes, media, please spend your time on retrospectives of a blip in time.

It’s not like we have other things to worry about.
