A Value Meal… with Hummus!
My friend Habib Battah watches the world from Beirut. He is a media expert in the fastest growing media region in the world. On his personal blog, The Beirut Report, he chronicles the often amusing, sometimes tragic, goings on in the “Paris of the East.”
Battah recently wrote about Snoop Dogg’s visit, American vs. Arab TV coverage of Gaza, and the controversial program to rebuild downtown Beirut.
But for some reason I was very amused by his recent post on Lebanese Fried Chicken, a fast growing, fast food chain. The company has just changed their name to Lebanese Fried Chicken International, signaling a desire for even broader expansion. Battah says there are already a dozen American KFC outlets in Lebanon, but the hunger for fried chicken has apparently not yet been satisfied.
Battah is giving up fried foods, so he hasn’t tried either. But friends tell him the LFC tastes better than KFC. And at half the price, you can even order a value meal with hummus.
