The Specter Switch

Trying to figure out if this will have any foreign policy impact — Specter really isn’t a key player.  The only one I see so far is that it offers the chance that the Democrats have a filibuster-proof majority on appointments. Then again, it may not.  Predicting how this guy will shift is about as reliable than predicting next week’s weather.

I agree, Specter will likely be as unreliable for the Dems as he was for the GOP. How many times has the guy spoken in favor of human rights, rule of law, etc. and then turned around and voted the opposite way?

On the other hand, it is amusing to watch the GOP trying to spin what is clearly another set-back as some sort of victory!
