Fighting Back

The good news is that the smear campaign against Harold Koh has faced considerable pushback from those who know him and his great work.  A few links:

Conservative Ted Olson — the man who argued for Bush in Bush v. Gore — comes out strongly in support of Harold.

Over 500 people (including me) have joined a new Facebook group called “We Support Harold Koh.” I encourage you to join as well.

The right-wing attack mongers at Accuracy in Media are now arguing that Harold should not be confirmed because he hired me as his chief of staff.  Really.  The author of the piece doesn’t just attack Harold (and me), he also goes after Louis Sohn, the late international law professor.  As a friend said to me, “Going after a dead man — now that’s classy.”

My piece on the smears is now up on Huffington Post.  Even if you’ve read it here, please check it out there, comment, and share with others.  Brandt Goldstein has weighed in as well.

Law professors Kenji Yoshino and Anupam Chander utterly demolish the specious “legal” arguments underpinning the smear campaign.

Josh Marshall at Talking Points Memo has joined the fight.
