Dilweed of the Day

Judd Gregg.  It took him nine days to figure out that he’s a Republican and Obama is a Democrat?  Sheesh.  Good riddance.

A suggestion to the President:  nobody in the Republican Party gives a rat’s ass about bipartisanship.  And guess what?  the vast majority of Americans see what’s happening and they’re furious — but not at you.

It’s not just Democrats.  My mother, who hasn’t voted for a Democrat since Kennedy (at least hadn’t until Obama) — and who still thinks Nixon was framed — told me last week that she’s furious with the Republicans.

It’s time to stop reaching out to an opposition only interested in arson when the house is on fire.  And can we name a thoughtful progressive who’s actually given some thought to these issues — instead of a political hack — to Commerce?

Palin2012, here are some of the results of recent polls of Americans…

“The American public gives President Barack Obama a strong 67% approval rating for the way in which he is handling the government’s efforts to pass an economic stimulus bill, while the Democrats and, in particular, the Republicans in Congress receive much lower approval ratings of 48% and 31%, respectively.”

“Six out of 10 approved of the way Democratic leaders in Congress are handling their jobs. But only 44 percent of those questioned approved of the way Republican leaders in Congress are performing.

That’s far below Obama’s 76 percent approval rating, which is higher than other recent national surveys by other organizations.”

There must be something wrong with that job for it to remain vacant in these difficult times.
