That Would Have Been My First Question, Too
Yesterday, Time posted excerpts of an interview Karen Tumulty conducted with Obama during his flight from Amman to Tel Aviv. You have to figure that Obama’s press people are running reporters through his cabin at a pretty fast clip. There’s a lot of turf to cover — McCain, Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, and so on. And each reporter doesn’t have much time. So Tumulty sits down, and makes this her first question:
First of all, how do you like your new plane?
And the press corps wonders why most Americans hold them in contempt.
